When love spans traditions, families, and full weekends—magic happens.
Sarah and Akul’s wedding was the definition of a joyful, multi-day celebration. From vibrant Indian traditions to a stunning Western ceremony, their wedding weekend brought color, culture, and connection together in the most unforgettable way.
We kicked things off in Raleigh, North Carolina with the Haldi—a lively and heartfelt pre-wedding tradition where friends and family come together to bless the couple. Bright yellow turmeric paste, meaningful rituals, and nonstop laughter filled the air. These moments are some of our favorite to document—raw, personal, and bursting with emotion (and a little friendly mischief).
If you’re planning a Haldi ceremony in North Carolina, it’s worth noting how special it is to carve out time for this tradition in a separate location—it allows the day to breathe and the couple to really soak in the love from their people.

From Raleigh, we traveled to The Williamsburg Inn in Virginia, where the wedding weekend unfolded in full luxury. With a venue as timeless and elegant as this one, every event felt cinematic.
The Sangeet was a kaleidoscope of music, dance performances, heartfelt speeches, and joyful chaos (the best kind). Sarah and Akul’s families brought the energy, and our team was there filming every spin, twirl, and surprise family dance number.

The following day kicked off with the Baraat—and let’s just say, Akul made an entrance worthy of a Bollywood film. Drums, dancing, and cheers filled the path to the Mandap, where the traditional Hindu ceremony was held.
The Mandap itself was a floral dream, set against the classic architecture of the Williamsburg Inn. With traditions carried out under the guidance of their families, the ceremony was deeply meaningful and visually stunning.

As if one wedding ceremony wasn’t enough magic—Sarah and Akul also held a Western ceremony to honor both of their backgrounds. The shift in vibe was seamless—from vibrant saris to modern bridal elegance. And through every transition, the love stayed front and center.
Documenting both ceremonies allowed us to capture the full depth of their story—the union of two people, two cultures, and all the people who helped them get there.

Multi-day Indian weddings are truly a dream for us to capture. The energy, the heritage, the personal touches—it’s all a photographer and filmmaker’s paradise. But it’s also a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
