Kevin and Elsa’s engagement session was the perfect mix of timeless and bold. They wanted something that felt personal yet editorial, something that reflected their relationship and their love for Raleigh. So, we split the session between The 1893 House in downtown Raleigh and a sunset stroll around the NC Capitol Building.
Both spaces are so distinct, and together they told the full story — quiet, sophisticated moments mixed with natural, real emotion.
Starting at The 1893 House
We began their session inside The 1893 House, one of Raleigh’s most beautiful and historic homes turned venue. The interiors are drenched in design details — patterned wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, emerald velvet chairs, and warm wood floors that catch the afternoon light just right.
Elsa and Kevin looked straight out of a magazine in their sleek black outfits. The space allowed for a mix of modern editorial posing and candid, lifestyle moments. From the marble bar to the grand fireplace, every corner of the house felt cinematic.
Downtown Raleigh + Capitol Building Stroll
After wrapping at The 1893 House, we took a short drive over to the NC Capitol Building, one of my favorite outdoor locations for engagement photos. The architecture, the greenery, and the city backdrop give it that timeless Raleigh feel — perfect for golden hour portraits.
Kevin and Elsa changed into casual outfits, giving the second half of the session a softer, more romantic tone. They walked hand-in-hand beneath blooming crepe myrtles, stopping often to just take it in and laugh together.
