A Warning for Engaged Couples: Issues Reported with Holly Christina Photography
Update as of January 25: Holly Christina Photography Has Closed
Holly Christina Photography has officially announced that the company is going out of business per this Instagram post.

Despite this announcement, many couples are still reporting that emails are going unanswered and refunds have not been issued for services that were fully paid in advance. With the company likely moving toward bankruptcy, it’s critical for affected couples to take immediate action to dispute charges and protect themselves financially.
If you were contracted with Holly Christina Photography, here’s how to act fast:
This is a heartbreaking situation for many couples, and unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Holly Christina Photography will be able to fulfill any outstanding contracts. Update as of January 20:
Holly Christina Photography shared an update on Instagram stating that Holly, the owner, has been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks.
First and foremost, we genuinely hope Holly is safe and receiving the care she needs. No one deserves serious health issues, and we wish her well.
At the same time, this update does not resolve the outstanding concerns shared by couples who report missing wedding galleries, undelivered videos, and months of unanswered communication. Many couples are still under contract for 2026 weddings and have expressed that they are unable to get confirmation, or clarity. Late 2025 couples are still missing their wedding media, although the Holly Christina team did mention these delayed edits and that they are in the que.
There have also been rumours circulating online regarding legal issues involving someone with the same name as Holly’s husband. At this time, these reports are confirmed by WRAL in this article, but state that the charges were dropped. Other rumours posted by friends and family hint towards the hospital stays being a mental health situation. Out of respect for all parties involved, assumptions about the situation should be treated with caution and not stated as fact.
What is confirmed through public reviews and firsthand accounts is that:
Regardless of the cause, couples deserve transparency, communication, and access to the memories they paid for. If you are currently contracted with any vendor and notice prolonged silence, missed delivery deadlines, or unclear communication, it is important to take action early to protect yourself.
If you are planning a 2025 or 2026 wedding and researching Holly Christina Photography, please slow down and read this first.
Over the past month (it’s currently January 2026), multiple couples in our local wedding community have publicly shared serious concerns about this company. These reports include lack of communication, missing wedding galleries and videos, last minute scrambling for associate shooters, and couples being unable to reach the business after full payment.
To be clear, this post is based on public reviews and firsthand accounts shared by clients and vendors. These are not rumors. These are real experiences couples have chosen to post under their own names.
What couples are reporting
Based on Facebook reviews, Google reviews, and posts in local photography groups, couples have stated that:
Here is an excerpt from one public review left by a client:
“We paid $5K for photos and videos and were guaranteed both would be finished within 10–12 weeks. It’s been 18 weeks and despite 5+ follow up emails and phone calls they are not responding. Honestly I just want my wedding video… I can never recreate my hours of wedding video and vows.”
Another reviewer stated:
“This company is a scam… The owners posted in a local photography group looking for 3 shooters for a wedding happening the next day. Avoid at all costs.”
Again, these are direct quotes from public reviews, not my personal claims.
If You Are Affected, Here Are 3 Steps You Can Take Now
I am not an attorney, but these are steps couples in similar situations commonly take.
1. Document everything
Save contracts, invoices, payment receipts, emails, texts, and screenshots of unanswered messages. Create a clean timeline of events. This matters if you pursue a chargeback or legal action.
2. Contact your bank or credit card company immediately
If you paid by credit card, you may still be eligible for a chargeback, even if some time has passed. Many banks make exceptions for non delivery of services. The sooner you call, the better.
3. File formal complaints
Couples have reported filing with the BBB, state consumer protection offices, and small claims court. These steps create a paper trail and often prompt faster responses than emails alone.
